The main reason we would advise you to avoid such ads is because they might come from malicious web pages that could be harmful to the system. If you click the ads, you could be redirected to such websites too. Some of them could contain Trojans, viruses, and other malware. Whether your computer gets infected depends on the antimalware tool that you use and the malicious site. There are web pages where you only need to click some suspicious notification, and your computer might get infected. Moreover, some of the sites could also distribute potentially unwanted programs, adware, different browser hijacker, questionable toolbars, and so on.
