Do you know what is?

If you find in your browsers as your new home page, new tab page, and default search provider, you should know that a browser hijacker has sneaked onto your computer probably without your knowledge. This hijacker may look like a totally legitimate search website, similar to Google or Yahoo; yet, this search website can provide you with potentially risky content that may pose a threat to your virtual security. Apart from the questionable search results this hijacker may expose you to, it may also bring other malicious programs onto your computer. Therefore, if you find this search engine in your browsers (Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome), you need to assume that there could be other threats as well, and you should not only remove and believe that your PC is all secure now. It is important that you make sure that there is not a single potential threat hiding on your system if you want to use a safe computer. Otherwise, it will be risky to even switch on your PC again, let alone go online and surf the web.

It is important to understand that you can easily infect your computer with this browser hijacker if you click on the wrong third-party ad or a compromised link. Certainly, it is even worse if you download a bundle of programs that may contain several useless and potentially harmful programs as well as malicious software installers (adware apps, browser hijackers, Trojans, fake alerts, and more). A lot of people try to download free programs, audio files, and movies every day. No wonder why schemers understood the great potential behind creating fake or malicious file-sharing pages (torrent and freeware) that can promote shady installers, i.e., bundles of questionable and malicious programs.

We advise you to always download software as well as updates from only official or reputable vendor sites. It is also important that you stop clicking on questionable third-party contents on suspicious websites. However, if your computer is already infected with malware like adware, it is also possible that such an infection exposes you to corrupt third-party ads even on reputable websites. This is why you should always have a clean system to save you from all kinds of further complications and vulnerabilities. One way to make sure that your PC does not hide potential threats is to run a reliable online malware scanner right after you delete from your browsers. This way you would know what you are really up against and you can take proper action to restore the security of your system.
