Privacy Center is like a blood sucking tick, it tries to suck the money from your wallet through biting it’s way through annoying popups and tactics that make you believe that you must purchase Privacy Center to remove parasites. Privacy Center will not remove anything but the money in your wallet.

Privacy Center is not much different from other rogues. You must never purchase Privacy Center under any circumstances. Privacy Center is not your answer to removal of parasites or even improving the security of your system.

This manual removal method is for techie computer users. Privacy Center manual removal may be difficult and time consuming to remove. There’s no guarantee that Privacy Center will be removed completely. So read the Privacy Center removal steps carefully and good luck.
Before you start: Close all programs and Internet browsers. Also back up your computer in case you make a mistake and your computer stops working.
- Uninstall Privacy Center Program
Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Double-click on Add/Remove Programs. Search for and uninstall Privacy Center if found. - To stop Privacy Center processes (view process removal steps)
Go to Start > Run > type taskmgr. The click the Processes tab and you’ll see a list of running processes.
Search and stop these Privacy Center processes:
agent.exe
protect[1].exe
pc.exe
For each unwanted process, right-click on it and then select “End task”. - To unregister Privacy Center registry keys (view registry keys removal steps)
Go to Start > Run > type regedit > press OK.
Edit the value (on the right pane) by right-clicking on it and selecting the Modify option. Select the Delete option.
Search and delete these Privacy Center registry keys: - If your homepage has been changed, go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > click on the General > click Use Default under Home Page. Add the your desired default homepage, then click Apply > click OK. Open a new web browser to check that you have your desired default homepage.
- Remove Privacy Center Directories.
To find Privacy Center directories, go to Start > My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files > Show the contents of this folder.
Search and delete the following Privacy Center directories:
C:\Program Files\Privacy Center
Right-click on the Privacy Center folder and select Delete.
A message will appear saying ‘Are you sure you want to remove the folder Privacy Center and move all its contents to the Recycle Bin?’, click Yes.
Another message will appear saying ‘Renaming, moving or deleting Privacy Center could make some programs not work. Are you sure you want to do this?’, click Yes. - To remove Privacy Center icons on your Desktop, drag and drop them to the Recycle Bin.

To locate the Privacy Center DLL path, go to Start > Search > All Files or Folders. Type Privacy Center and in the Look in: select either My Computer or Local Hard Drives. Click the Search button.
Once you have the Privacy Center DLL path, go to Start and then click on Run. In the Run command box, type cmd, and then click on OK.
To locate the exact DLL path, type cd in order to change the current directory. To display the contents of the directory, use the dir command. To remove the DLL file type regsvr32 /u FILENAME.dll (FILENAME is the name of the file that you want to unregister). - To unregister Privacy Center registry keys (view registry keys removal steps)

I have the Privacy Center worm on my computer.
I have the Vistaui
After starting the computer and entering the password the Privacy Center scan program appears on the screen.
I cannot see the Start logo or any programs.

I have the same problem as Clay with XP. I cannot get anything by the Privacy Center program, and I also cannot find any of the processes or registry files listed here.

I re booted my pc and went into safe mode by pressing F8. Once there I went to “safe mode with command mode” option.
Once there using DOS command I went to c:\Program Files\RCenter and ran the uninstall. I also did all that was requested from the command prompt itself using the REG command.
The issue was fixed for me.
