LowPrices Removal Guide

Do you know what LowPrices is?

LowPrices is an annoying application that will expose you to potentially corrupted content. This application pretends it can help you purchase various goods at a lower price. However, the problem is that LowPrices cannot guarantee you will be redirected to reliable websites. Unless you remove LowPrices from your system, you will be continuously offered various coupons and discounts that are related to your search history. Do not become a puppet in this dirty online marketing scheme and get rid of all the unwanted applications from your computer immediately.

It is natural to think that LowPrices is a malicious infection that enters your computer behind your back. Nevertheless, that is not exactly the case. This adware application cannot enter your computer unless you allow it to. LowPrices used to have an official website at lowprices.info, but it doesn’t work anymore, which eliminates any possibility that you could download this application directly.

However, direct installation is seldom used as adware distribution method. More often than not, LowPrices and similar applications are spread in software packages. For example, LowPrices is based on the JustPlugIt engine, so it is distributed in the same manner as other programs from the same group (SaveNShop, SharkManCoupon, SaveOn, and so on). Namely, the program comes with InstallRex (or Amonetize, Vittalia) installers. Users initiate the freeware installation when they click random download links on third-party websites. For example, if you often indulge into downloading from torrent sites, be careful about clicking random download buttons that might initiate freeware installation.

We are not trying to say that LowPrices is an extremely dangerous threat. Although this application adds extensions to Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, it does not try to infect you with malware. The only reason LowPrices enters your computer is money. It needs to generate commercial ads and then make you click them so that the people behind this application would gain financial profit. This kind of system is not illegal, but it poses a number of security threats.

For example, LowPrices ads could be used by malevolent third parties to promote unreliable websites. Most of the time, pop-up ads contain outgoing links to websites that are there to collect data for online marketing reasons. Nevertheless, LowPrices could also be exploited as a mean of malware distribution, so stop before you even think of clicking those pop-ups.

Open your Control Panel and uninstall LowPrices from your computer. When you are done with manual removal, check whether you have more unwanted apps remaining on your system. The best way to do it is by investing in a legitimate antispyware tool.
