Guard Online Removal Guide

Do you know what Guard Online is?

With all the threats facing healthy PCs these days, users may find it difficult to distinguish between genuine and rubbish security applications like Guard Online. This rogue antispyware application derives from the same family as the Rogue.WinAVPro family, and was developed by the same people behind the OpenCloud Security rogueware. It was never designed to be of any benefit to a PC, and will cause much more damage than any good.

Guard Online enters the system surreptitiously and will remain hidden until it is ready to start its attack against the system. This will usually happen by Guard Online initiating a fake system scan informing the user that his system is being attacked. It will then inform the user that he needs to purchase Guard Online in order to stave off these attacks. Shortly following this the rogue will start to spam the user with falsely generated security messages informing him of the same. Some of the fake alerts to be on the lookout for read as follows:

Windows Security Alert
To help protect your computer, Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program.
Do you want to keep blocking this program?

Name: Zeus Trojan
Publisher: Unauthorized

Warning! Infection found
Unauthorized sending E-MAIL with subject "RE:" to <fake email here> was CANCELLED.

Some installations of the Rogue.WinAVPro family may bundle the ZeroAccess Rootkit together with the rogue. If this is to happen, the Rootkit will kill any process which scans one of the items it is protecting in the file system or Windows Registry. It will then go on to alter the permissions for that application, and then try to run the application again.

Guard Online will annoy the user with various irritating symptoms, some of which are blocked Internet connections, poor system performance and randomly generated Desktop items. In order to stop these symptoms in their tracks, enter the following activation key into the rogue:

When all is said and done you will only be able to regain control of your PC if you destroy Guard Online without hesitation. Do this safely and permanently by investing in a powerful security tool which will also offer adequate protection against similar threats in future.
