  9. Overwrite the unwanted URL and click OK.
  10. Right-click the value called SearchAssistant and select Modify.
  11. Overwrite the unwanted URL and click OK.
  12. In the pane on the left move to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
  13. Right-click the value called C and choose Delete.
  14. Launch Explorer (tap Win+E keys).
  15. Enter %WINDIR%\System32\GroupPolicy\ (or %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\GroupPolicy\) into the bar at the top.
  16. Open the folder named Machine and Delete files called R and Registry.pol.
  17. Go back, open the folder named User and Delete files called R and Registry.pol.
  18. Enter %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\ (or %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\) into the bar at the top.
  19. Open the file called Preferences (we suggest using Notepad).
