AutoTinker Removal Guide

Do you know what AutoTinker is?

AutoTinker is a program that has to be removed from your computer immediately. It is an adware application that will only expose you to potentially harmful content for monetary purposes. Granted, this program is not a malicious computer infection, but AutoTinker is too vulnerable to third-party exploitation to ignore it. What’s more, you may be battling multiple adware applications at the same time without even realizing it. Scan your computer with the SpyHunter free scanner to determine how many unwanted programs you have on your computer. Make sure you remove them all and secure your system against similar intruders in the future.

If you are wondering how we know that there are multiple unwanted programs running on your computer, it is because AutoTinker NEVER comes alone. Adware programs from the Multiplug family are not distributed individually because they have neither working direct download links nor decent homepages. As a result, AutoTinker, LockerTerminal, MetroCleaner, AllDaySale, and many other programs from the same group travel bundled with freeware, browser hijackers, and other undesirable software. These software packages usually are carried by the InstallRex, Amonetize, and Vittalia installers. Users initiate the software download themselves when they click fake download buttons on torrent websites and random pop-ups that jump into their screens when they open adware-related sites.

To put it simply, AutoTinker would not be there on your computer if you had not allowed it to enter. However, now that the program is there, you need to deal with it as swiftly as possible. You will notice that this application has added an extension to your browser. Supposedly, the extension should improve your browser’s functionality, but it only slows it down and spams you with pop-up ads that promote unreliable third-party content. Needless to say, you are strongly discouraged from clicking any of the ads because you can never know where they will take you.

The reason adware applications display commercial content is money. With every click, you increase traffic on a particular website, and the people behind AutoTinker and similar applications are paid via the pay-per-click system. Even if you are not aware of that, this kind of system is not illegal, and it is often employed by adware and freeware creators to cover development and maintenance cost. However, since they do not have enough money to invest in program security, adware applications are quite vulnerable, and they can be misused by cyber criminals to promote corrupted content. If this happens, you could end up getting infected with malware.

The best way to avoid this is to remove AutoTinker right now. Open your Control Panel and delete the application manually. The removal via Control Panel affects only the Internet Explorer web browser, so you will have to delete the extension from Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome separately. However, that is not the end.

Manual removal often is not enough to ensure your computer’s security and delete all the potential threats. Therefore, just as mentioned in the first paragraph, get yourself a legitimate security application and terminate unwanted files and programs automatically. This will save you the trouble of going through countless folders on your own, and your PC will be safeguarded from similar unwelcome guests.

This opens possibilities for cyber criminals to make use of AutoTinker for malware distribution. Get rid of this program right now and invest in a computer security tool of your choice to avoid similar situations in the future.
