Adpeak Removal Guide

Do you know what Adpeak is?

Adpeak is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) or adware, that is not a direct computer infection, and yet computer security experts recommend deleting it from your computer. It is important to realize that Adpeak is not a Trojan, so it is a piece of software that does not exactly post any direct system security threats, but any computer user who is concerned about his own privacy should be informed about it, and if possible, Adpeak should be removed from the PC.

Since Adpeak is an adware application, it obviously displays various types of commercial advertisements that could be embedded by third parties. Adpeak is actually the name of a developer that creates a list of adware applications, including Scorpion Saver, which is a potentially unwanted application as well. It means that the application definitely communicates with third parties to receive content for its ads, and its presence on your computer also indicates a very high possibility of yet another potentially unwanted program being installed as well. That is so because Adpeak is usually installed bundled with freeware and other adware, so it would not be a mistake to claim that such programs usually travel in packs.

We consider Adpeak as potentially unwanted program as a whole, although there are a lot of applications that fall under its umbrella. Apart from Scorpion Saver, there are also such programs as GetSavin Ads, CouponAmazing, Supreme Savings and so on. All of these applications are said to improve your web browsing experience by providing you with relevant coupons and discount offers whenever you shop online. However, as it has been mentioned already, the credibility of such advertisements is highly doubtful.

Adpeak only creates adware programs it does not have a database that would allow it to generate commercial advertisements. Therefore, it means that all the applications from the family rely on third party advertising networks for their coupon content. However, as it is usually the case with freeware applications, Adpeak programs do not review the content they display, so if any application gets exploited by malicious third party, it might expose you to potential threats and even malware infections.

It should be pointed out that usually it is the user himself/herself who installs Adpeak applications on the PC. So it is obvious that you can uninstall them manually as well. However, if you do not know which program needs to be removed from your computer, you can scan it with a computer security application that detects classifies such applications as Adpeak as potential threats. Then any program will be detected immediately and you will even be able to remove them automatically (as long as you invest in the computer security application).

If you wish to remove Adpeak applications manually, you need to access Control Panel. Check out the instructions below if you are not sure that is supposed to be done.
