The latest scam taking the Internet Community by storm is the trend to make use of a fake Facebook page, complete with a fake flash player, and via these fake applications, the hackers are ensuring they enter into computer systems undetected.

What is happening now is these codec’s are being mimicked and the fake codec’s are being marketed as legitimate ones. In recent findings by security experts, it was discovered that a rogue ad was popping up on the New York Times website. The advert attempted to warn computer users of a virus and redirects them to a site that pretends to scan and fix the system. Not only does this sound familiar, but it is basically the same type of malicious tactics used by hackers to make computer users believe they must pay for something that they do not need.

OmegaAntivir or Omega Antivir, is a rogue anti-spyware program that was found to originate from makers of the fake security applications Windows Protection Suite and Windows Additional Guard. OmegaAntivir can be installed from a malicious website that advertises and sells fake security programs. Once installed, OmegaAntivir may bombard you with several misleading popup messages and falsified system scans.

SafetyKeeper is another rogue anti-spyware program to come from the creators of the rogues BlockDefense, SaveKeeper and SaveDefense. These same rogue security programs are known to conduct many different methods to entice computer users to purchase one of these applications.
SafetyKeeper, like it’s sister applications, is completely incapable of detecting and remove computer parasites which it may claim otherwise on a malicious website that it is advertised and sold on. SafetyKeeper or Safety Keeper, can be said to be a completely worthless program.

These threats are fabricated and only used to force you into wasting your money on the Advanced Cleaner program.
